What are the requirements for this patch collection?

See the sidebar on the main KS Rotary page.

How much polyphony do these sounds consume?

For the basic organ sound (no percussion or rotor noise), programs require 3 voices per note, and setups require 4 voices per note. Percussion requires another voice, as does rotary noise. By selecting the elements you wish to have active, you can control how much polyphony these organs consume.

Were the demos enhanced an any way, or are these sounds really as good as the demos make them seem?

Short answer: Yes, they are as good as they seem. Long answer: The solo demos do not use any effects at all. A couple of the mix demos use subtle room reverb (supplied with this collection), and all mix demos use multiband compression on the entire mix, courtesy of a Motif ES. Setups were used to create all demos.

What drawbar settings are provided?

888888888, 888884053, 715855340, 808808006, 888806006, 888800000, 888000000, 808400000, 008600000, 832000003, 808000006, 408000008, 808000000, and a few additional gospel timbres. Keep in mind that most drawbar settings are presented in two variations: normal and bright. A few settings, such as 888888888, 888800000, and 888000000 have more than two variations because both RAM and ROM samples are used.

Is the KS Rotary collection a replacement for the KS B3 collection?

Not at all. The two collections address different needs. For the Kurzweil user who has access to KDFX and KB3 mode, KS B3 provides the most realistic organs. The KS Rotary collection is designed for users want realistic organs without having to use KB3 mode, KDFX, or external effects.
